Q: What’s the difference between a leisure battery and an automobile battery?

A: Well, it’s not that one wears slops to work and knocks off at 3 PM on a Friday. The difference comes down to:
• Amount of charge on starting
• Amount of discharge occasions

A car’s battery is designed to provide an enormous amount of current for a short period, while a leisure battery is designed to provide a steady amount of current over an extended period.

Also, leisure batteries are designed to be repeatedly discharged (go ‘flat’); whereas a car battery isn’t (in fact, if a car battery often goes ‘flat’, it’ll quickly be ruined.).
