For the past 50 years, we’ve been on a journey that has helped many South Africans #StartSomething. This is Alfred’s story, who visited a Battery Centre before assisting with a relief project in Alexandra.
“Just last year, we had a terrible fire in my neighbourhood, Alexandra. It broke my heart because I spent a large chunk of my life there before my business took me to Cape Town.
After reading reports and chatting with old friends, I realised how many people were displaced from their homes.
So I began collecting basic sanitaryware and groceries from my community project in Cape Town and loaded up my bakkie for the long drive to Joburg.
I had my bakkie checked at Battery Centre Paarl, where the team did a full assessment and replaced my battery. This is how I managed to #StartSomething and assist the people from my hood.”
